Storm Print – Thunderheads

Thunderheads

broiling skies over rural america

As iconic a scene as you'll ever see in the Midwest are the broiling thunderheads anvilling out across the Great Plains. Often towering in excess of 50,000ft into the Stratosphere, updraft towers such as these are emblematic of a powerful storm system with their defined, crisp, cauliflower structure. We chased this storm complex across Eastern Colorado into Western Kansas before reluctantly having to bid it farewell to catch our flight home. We couldn't not stop however and grab this final shot of such an incredible scene.
