What's Up? (Buttercup)
a field of buttercups run through english countryside
buttercups along the way
There is just something so unmistakably quintessential about the English countryside and this spot on Beeding Hill of the South Downs Way winding a path through a field of buttercups instantly struck a chord when I went on one of my many reccies around the hills of Sussex...

summertime in the english countryside
The path leading west across the Downs, the sun setting at its most north westerly and the buttercups not going to be around for too much longer all meant that there wouldn't be too many more opportunities to grab a shot like this. In my mind's eye I already had an image of the evening sun glancing off the ridges and hillsides of the South Downs and thankfully the perfect conditions arose just days after my initial scouting mission. I was able to grab this charming shot shortly before a herd of cows mooved in and began turning the buttercups into literal butter.
Summertime in the English countryside is a beautiful, blissful experience and arguably a unique one with many a poet waxing lyrical about it. So lush and vibrant, it conjures a dreamy, peaceful way of life; a reaction which was evoked when I first set eyes upon this scene and which I hope to have captured in this photo.
