rural winter charm
I can't remember when I first saw this view but I recall seeing it from the road as I passed one day so I immediately made a U-turn, parked up and went exploring the grounds. Immediately east of the stile is the remains of the Planetrees section of Hadrian's Wall which demonstrates a shift from narrow wall to broad wall.
Originally I thought this view would be perfect for a cold season sunset as the view looks south west, but to this day nothing suitable has ever materialised. Instead, with the view somewhat lost from my mind to time, it wasn't until the brief heavy snowfall of January 2025 where I was actually en route to another photoshoot location that this place suddenly sprang to mind. Serendipity struck again and with the heaviest of the snow having fallen here, a good hour or so was spent capturing a quintessential, almost romantic slice of countryside life.
